The Highest Converting Outbound Message Right Now

why you should be keeping it short and sweet

By far across the 25+ campaigns we manage and oversee, the best-performing copy for a cold email right now is a 1-2 sentence message.

An extremely clear value prop, a P.S. line explaining more, and a “” variable is all you really need.

I believe this is the case for a few reasons:

  1. It has the highest chance of landing in the inbox right now

  • A week or two back Outlook decided to become somewhat functional again - but only for ridiculously short emails

  • If you want to add an extra 50% of the contacts you send to, make your messages that you’re sending to Outlook ESP’s < 20 words.

  1. It is your best to chance to get feedback directly on your offer

  • With an extremely short message, odds are the recipient is going to read it.

  • Keeping this in mind, we can make an inference that the reason for responding vs not responding is going to be dependent on whether your offer was good enough or not

  • Contrast this to an email much longer, it opens the door to plenty more reasons why someone didn’t respond

    • Too long, didn’t hit inbox in the first place, etc.

Here are a few templates we’re running right now that are working well following this format:

“,

If you could {value prop} without having to {risk reduction / old procedure}, would that be valuable to right now?”

“,

What’re you doing to make sure {obvious outcome prospect would want} right now?

Helped a similar team to {insert valued outcome}.

Worth exploring?”

Hope this helps ladies and gents. Trying to make this newsletter as valuable as possible. Let me know what else you’re looking for from me!
