How to Properly Build a 90 Day Raise Process

One of the most common things I hear from those on this list when I first spoke with them, was the timeline of their fundraise being unexpected.

“We were planning to get this done in the first 90 days, but we’re on 6 months and haven’t closed it yet”.
“It’s been 12+ months and we still don’t have a proper lead investor”

This problem usually stems from the fact that their focus is split.

They’re trying to run, grow, and improve the company WHILE leading the whole fundraising process.

Unfortunately despite best efforts, this usually leads to slow distribution of the deal and an unfocused effort to find the right investor.

Coming from the sales / business dev background our group has, one of the most important things we have built in all of the mandates we take on is speed to feedback. 

To clarify: This does NOT mean taking a shotgun approach and blasting the market with your deal. It DOES mean getting in touch with the right groups, in a deliberate manner, and starting to build the top of the investor funnel fast.

  • And when you don’t have enough eyes on MOF, you can’t make decisions on if the material they’re reviewing is converting them or not.

  3. Build modern sales assets that display the opportunity properly

  4. Track all data / feedback from investors to make changes to your assets

  5. Capitalize and close
